Last week we got read a confessional poem by William Carlos Williams. What we had to do was write a poem confessing something using the same structure and format but we took out some of the words to make it our own poem. We had to use the same sentence starters as William Carlos Williams used but all the other words were taken out and we changed them into our own.
Once we thought of a confession, we got given a piece of paper that had Williams poem on one side and the start of his sentences on the other side. Once we had wrote our poem, we edited it, we showed it to our teacher and then we published it on a shared slide. Here's how mine turned out.
I like reading your poem Lily, its funny how you wanted to win and how they wanted to win as well.
